As the closing of our project is approaching, a series of workshops is under implementation at our pilot sites, in order to familiarize possible end users of the ARtwin platform with our offer.
A two-days workshop has been held at Siemens Karls ruhe, in the Digital Automation lab, presenting the AR enabled factory worker use case of ARtwin. The use case was demonstrated live to the participants. Additionally, several videos were recorded from the live demonstration and this was collated into a final promotional video for use case 1. Main outcomes were that integrations to enterprise software and systems were necessary to connect to live data and that issues with data privacy and security is a key factor in influencing the purchasing decision for ARtwin. The potential of ARtwin and its relevancy in the context of use case 1 was also seen mostly in production facilities in industry.
A second two-days workshop has been held at the Siemens Gerätewerk Erlange, demonstrating the AR based factory planning use case of ARtwin. The use case was demonstrated live to the around 25 participants on the shop floor as well as to the management personnel in the workshop room. Several videos were recorded from the live demonstration and this was collated into a final promotional video for the use case. The main outcomes were that visualizations of animated simulations of new workstation equipment would be very helpful along with a direct connection to industry PLM systems like Teamcenter and NX for a dynamic input of point clouds and asset bundles.
