Localisation for AR devices

The AR localisation service is set on maintaining a consistent and unified visualisation of the map, by being able to determine the accurate location of each device accessing the map.

The system will be robust to large variability of the environment. In this context we aim at gradually changing factory and construction layout (e.g. reconstructing the layout of the manufacturing lines, continuous progress in construction), allowing for occlusions by distractors (e.g. moving people, traffic, temporary supporting structures) and variations of sensing conditions (e.g. change of lighting and weather changes, etc.). The pose of the observer will be estimated in real time by integrating camera tracking localisation and information about the environment represented by the map.
